Welwyn 5th XV vs Old Ashmoleans Match Report

The fifth XV turned on the style against Old Ashmoleans with 4 first half tries and one second half try to win their first game of the season and their first under the Captaincy of James Tanner 29-10.

A hatrick of tries from new South African player John Champion including one in the second minute of the game set the tone for an exciting performance from a group of players that had not played together much prior to this season.

Barry Wilson capitalised on an Ashmoleans error late in the first half for the forth try and Vince Nevel found himself on the end of a passage of flowing passes and running for the fifth try near the end of the game.

Adam Boland added two conversions to the total.
