Club Partnership Programme receives exciting new Sponsor…

The club partnership programme has recently received new sponsorship from...

Saracens Club Partnership programme has moved into another gear after signing a sponsorship deal with Stratstone of Aylesbury Land Rover. This will enable the Community Team to further develop the game of rugby in the local area - particularly at grass roots level.
Saracens Community Manager Dave Hesketh added: “The Club Partnership Programme continues to go from strength to strength and this deal will allow us to increase the benefits and help we give to rugby clubs. We’re looking forward to working in partnership with Stratstone of Aylesbury Land Rover to further develop the game in the local area.”
Last season through the partnership programme local clubs raised almost £14,000 for new kit and equipment often for their junior teams. Many of the young children at these clubs also experienced the opportunity to play on the Vicarage Road pitch or at pre-match coaching sessions led by Saracens players. Through our coach development programme, exclusive to partner club coaches, over 100 coaches attended our ‘Coach the Coaches’ sessions and ‘Coaches Open Days’. In addition to this almost 1500 young players have also joined Sarrie’s Squad for FREE and have benefited from special regular emails from the Coolest Camel around, special Squad events, the chance to be a Saracens mascot and much more.

Castaignede thrilled with French call up...

Thomas Castaignede has been called into the French squad for the country's match against Australia. Castaignede is named in a squad of 22 for first of France's November internationals and the player was delighted after being handed his call-up forms at the Saracens Training Centre.

He said: "Obviously I am very happy, but this has only come because of the hard work I have been doing with Saracens and that the team have been playing well. It's happened because of that but there is still a lot of hard work for me before the game and in the build-up to the world cup."

Castaignede was clearly delighted with the performance from the team in the 22-10 victory over Biarritz in the Heineken Cup which was in front of French Coach Bernard Laporte. "It was a terrific result," he explained. "We're very happy and it was a good performance. But I'm sure that when we travel to Biarritz they will be looking to make up for that game.

Masterclass

October half term once again provided young mad rugby fans the opportunity to take part in a Masterclass. A Kicking Clinic was organised on the Monday allowing the chance for young players to develop their whole kicking game. With conversions from the touchline at one end of the field and towering drop outs from the other, coaches and players were very impressed. All participants showed a huge improvement throughout the day, and as Alan Dickens, Ben Russell and Moses Raulini pointed out, “watch out Glen Jackson!”

A 3 Day course took place at Bishops Stortford Rugby Club with some excellent rugby on display. Various players visited the group of young players throughout the week including Thomas Cataignede, Ben Skirving, Nicky Little, Dan Scarborough and Kevin Yates to name a few.

Saracens would like to congratulate Dominic Walter who received Senior Player of the Course award, and Joseph McKay who received Junior Player of the Week award. Both receive a Saracens 05/06 Home Shirt.

For those who were in attendance we will see you at the Northampton game having received your free ticket.

Our next Masterclass course will take place during the Christmas School holidays. To ensure you are on our mailing list please contact Masterclass@saracens.net
