Warriors Girls make the England Grade!

Hannah Gallagher & Megan Williams, both members of Welwyn Warriors U17 side have made the England Talent Development Group. This is an elite squad of 30 girls that will receive the very best coaching over the next year as the England coaches assess their potential.

This is a huge achievement for both girls who are naturally over the moon! There were over 300 girls trying for much converted 30 places, so the scale of their success is outstanding! Both girls already play County rugby for Hertfordshire as well as for the East of England region.

Stanborough school pupil Megan has also been selected to join 9 other elite athletes from different sports on an elite programme, run at the University of Hertfordshire. This is a six month course aimed at improving fitness and strengthening. Megan will benefit from one to one instruction and group sessions.

Welwyn Warriors are delighted for the girls. Team Manager Dave Marques said ‘It’s fantastic! Both girls just keep achieving! Hannah has just stepped up from U14 level and is already our U17 vice captain. Megan just continues improving. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if they do go all the way to represent England in the future!’
